Good as Gold

Have you ever participated in a treasure hunt? Most of us have at one time or another. Sometimes they’re called scavenger hunts, but the end result is pretty much the same. You look for something that is valuable, and if you find it you win a prize. Hunting for treasure will be what I’ll be doing once I run out of Ringtons Kenyan Gold tea. I purchased this tea on several occasions from teadog. Unfortunately, Ringtons is no longer available on their site. What am I going to do when I run out?!WP-Kenyan Gold-TD

I’ve done a search online to see if there are any other vendors in the US that carry this blend. So far, the only place I’ve found is Amazon. I don’t buy anything from Amazon. I haven’t for years, not after the second time my credit card information was compromised and I had to go through all kinds of rigmarole to get a new card. That’s a pain I don’t need to put myself through again. I look at Amazon like I look at WalMart. They don’t have anything that I absolutely need that I can’t find or figure out a way to get elsewhere.

Trying this blend was another adventure for me way back when. To say I was pleased with my “treasure” upon my first taste would be an understatement. This is one lovely tea blend! It became one that I saved to have on Sunday afternoons when I could sit down, relax, and really enjoy a good cup of tea, slowly, mindfully. This tea is smooth with no astringency whatsoever. It’s a strong blend with a rich and malty flavour. I add milk and honey for a most enjoyable tea time. This is the only black tea in my stash where the instructions for brewing say to catch the water just before it comes to a complete boil. That works for me because it means I get to enjoy my tea no less than 30 seconds sooner. Every second does count when you’re having tea withdrawal.
